There are people that hoard books. I have heard them say they love books. Books have a mystique about them. Hidden manuscripts with the secret of the ages, books of spells. They used to be valuable part of estates and given to the next generation in wills.
I was once watching a show, it was not one of these hoarding shows but a home decorating show. In it a couple was showing off the system they had in dealing with the many, many books they had. The books were on custom built shelves on most of the walls from top to bottom. they were made into doors. When asked why they had so many books they said they did not give away or throw out books.
Even though their house was very nicely decorated and neat, they were book hoarders.
